The type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Zulu (1962) alongside the Alexander Stephen & Sons Ltd fitting out berth at Linthouse, Glasgow during the final stages of building prior to 16 April 1964. The photographer is in the crew's galley and preparation space between 45 and 50 stations on the starboard side of 2 deck looking aft from the starboard side at 45½ station. Against the ship's side are a sink unit, a stainless steel dresser with shelves under and above and a gravity meat slicer. On the port side are a boiling plate unit and a dresser unit. Against the aft bulkhead are three boiling coppers, steaming ovens and a roasting oven.
