The type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Zulu (1962) alongside the Alexander Stephen & Sons Ltd fitting out berth at Linthouse, Glasgow during the final stages of building prior to 16 April 1964. The photographer is in the electronics maintenance room between 34 and 38½ stations on the port side of 2 deck looking aft showing a telephone handset and a dimmer switch on the left. A workbench with drawers and shelves under is against the ship's side. Above the bench are seven switch sockets, a generator pulse unit and teleprinter test equipment units. Six suppressor units, two fuse panels and a junction box are against the aft bulkhead.
