The type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Zulu (1962) alongside the Alexander Stephen & Sons Ltd fitting out berth at Linthouse, Glasgow during the final stages of building prior to 16 April 1964. The photographer is in the mortar projectile room between 68 and 73 stations on the starboard side of 3 deck looking aft from68½ station showing the projectile stowage racks on the left. Wooden storage shelves are against the port bulkhead and rolls of cable or small bore hose are on one of the shelves. On the deck under the shelves are coir matting rolls. A fire extinguisher is near the closed watertight door at 73 station.
