The type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Zulu (1962) alongside the Alexander Stephen & Sons Ltd fitting out berth at Linthouse, Glasgow during the final stages of building prior to 16 April 1964. The photographer is in the aft 4.5 inch magazine and shell room between 73½ and 75½ stations on the centreline of 3 deck looking to port from the starboard side at the aft end aft showing a shell hoist in the left foreground and the closed watertight door to the room. The shell and cartridge racks are on the right and fixed to the end of the racks are the contents board and the cordite state board. A vertical format negative.
