On board the type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Zulu (1962) in Rosyth Dockyard during a lengthy refit which was completed in December 1974. The photographer is in the enclosed bridge between 40 and 43 stations on 01 deck looking forward and to starboard from the port side showing a telephone control box and two handsets on the left. In the forward extension are the captain's high chair and the pelorus. On the right is a cupboard and beyond it is a visual display unit. Seen beyond the bridge windows is a funnel of the cruiser Lion (1944) which was in Rosyth to be stripped for spares prior to being broken up at Inverkeithing.
