On board the type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Zulu (1962) in Rosyth Dockyard during a lengthy refit which was completed in December 1974. The photographer is on the starboard side of 01 deck looking forward and to port from 54 station showing the deckhouse between 47 and 54 stations at the base of the mainmast. The watertight door to the forward Seacat ready use magazine is open on the left, stairs lead up to 02 deck and the door to the shipwright's store is open. A 20 inch signalling projector is at 02 deck level.
