On board the type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Zulu (1962) in Rosyth Dockyard during a lengthy refit which was completed in December 1974. The photographer is on the port side of 01 deck looking forward and to starboard from 52 station showing the deckhouse between 47 and 52 stations at the base of the mainmast. The watertight door to the forward Seacat ready use magazine is open. Stairs lead up to 02 deck and a 20 inch signalling projector is on the port side of 02 deck. The door to the Gemini craft store is closed but not clipped.
