The photographer is looking aft and slightly to starboard from 1 station on the forecastle showing the cable arrangements, the twin headed electric capstan, the breakwater, the Mark 5* Mod 1 4.5 inch gun mounting, the face of the superstructure, the MRS 3 director, the type 293Q radar mast and the lower mainmast. Awning stanchions are rigged. A Coles mobile crane serial Y.S.M. 4248 is on the quayside.
