The photographer is in the commanding officer's day cabin between 46¼ and 48½ stations on the starboard side of 1 deck looking to starboard and forward. An electric fire and two club fenders are against the ship's side and a cupboard is in the forward starboard corner. An armchair and a coffee table are in the centre of the cabin and a drop-leaf table is on the left. The door to the sleeping cabin in the forward bulkhead is open.
