The photographer is in the port side of the diesel generator compartment between 61 and 65½ stations on 1 deck looking forward showing the Paxman diesel engine and generator, manufactured by English Electric Diesels Ltd, on the left. Tool boxes are on the deck on the right and a small workbench equipped with a Samsonia Model 35 vice is fitted to the bulkhead of the gas turbine uptake.
