On board the type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Zulu (1962) in Rosyth Dockyard during a lengthy refit which was completed in December 1974. The photographer is in the aft 4.5 inch handing room and gun crew shelter between 74½ and 76 stations on 1 deck looking to starboard showing the shell and cartridge hoists against the aft bulkhead with a telephone handset above them. Two fire extinguishers and a number of lockers are against the forward bulkhead. Cable reels are under the deckhead and the 4.5 inch ready use magazine is on the starboard side.
