On board the type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Zulu (1962) in Rosyth Dockyard during a lengthy refit which was completed in December 1974. The photographer is on the quarterdeck looking forward and to starboard from the port side at 91 station showing the Mark 5* Mod 1 4.5 inch gun mount and the aft superstructure. The Type 182 foxer towed body is on the right with the capstan and the Type 182 Foxer double barreled winch further forward. Safety nets are round the flight deck on the hangar roof. The light cruiser Lion (1944) is laid up in the background being stripped for spares prior to being broken up.
