On board the type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Zulu (1962) in Rosyth Dockyard during a lengthy refit which was completed in December 1974. The photographer is in the canteen between 57¾ and 59 stations on the port side of 2 deck looking to port and slightly aft showing a desk, chair, stool and beverages cooler in the foreground. Open wooden shelves with perspex front panels are against the side of the ship and the aft bulkhead. A clock is reading 11.12. The products on the shelves include Maltesers, shampoo, aftershave, Blue Label tea, instant coffee, Bic biros, Quink ink, soaps, hair creams, toothpaste, Heinz baked beans & pork sausages, Shippam's pastes, Bovril, Marmite, sweets, chocolate bars, tins of soup, tins of fruit and tins of rice pudding.
