On board the type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Zulu (1962) in Rosyth Dockyard during a lengthy refit which was completed in December 1974. The photographer is in the conversion machinery room between 45 and 48 stations on the starboard side of 4 deck looking forward and to port showing two motor generators by Small Electric Motors Ltd of Beckenham, Kent, in the centre of the room. Against the port bulkhead are a choke unit, the No. 2 generator starter and three voltage regulators.
