On board the type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Zulu (1962) in Rosyth Dockyard during a lengthy refit which was completed in December 1974. The photographer is in the auxiliary machinery compartment between 41 and 45 stations on 4 deck looking aft showing steel ramps, various electronic panels, an automatic emergency lantern and a small motor on the left. Starter panels and fire hose baskets are against the aft bulkhead. A fire extinguisher and drums of white paint are on the deck and stairs lead up to 3 deck.
