On board the type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Zulu (1962) in Rosyth Dockyard during a lengthy refit which was completed in December 1974. The photographer is in the aft metadyne room between 73 and 78 stations on the port side of 3 deck looking aft from the doorway showing a training metadyne on the right with a control panel, fuse panels and starter panel against the ship's side. A ventilation fan and trunking is against the aft bulkhead. On the left are various fuse panels, a panel undergoing maintenance with the front cover removed, and a semi-circular shaped starshell change over switch.
