On board the type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Zulu (1962) in Rosyth Dockyard during a lengthy refit which was completed in December 1974. The photographer is in the C.P.Os mess between 67 and 73 stations on 2 deck looking to starboard from just inside the door near the centreline showing the bar in the recreation area. The bar is equipped with two beer pumps and a stool is in front of the bar with a firkin alongside it. At the back of the bar is a cabinet fitted with a roller shutter front. A telephone is against the forward bulkhead and a clock is reading 2.52.
