A starboard near broadside view, taken from just abaft the beam, of the Cunard Line cruise ship Lancastria (1922), at anchor in a Norwegian fjord. She is in the standard Cunard livery of black hull with white upperworks but the white has been extended down by one deck. Her starboard anchor is deployed and she has an accommodation ladder rigged at the shell doors amidships. Lifeboats 1 and 7 are out of their falls and there are a number of small boats alongside. onee of her lifeboats is heading for the shore. There are patches on snow on the mountains in the background. The negative is slightly out of focus.
