On board the type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Ashanti (1959) alongside North Corner Jetty in Portsmouth Dockyard during her September 1968 to April 1970 refit. The photographer is in the crew's galley and preparation space between 45 and 50 stations on the starboard side of 2 deck looking aft and to port from 49 station on the starboard side showing the roasting ovens on the left against the aft bulkhead. On the left is a shelf unit with work top with numerous cooking pans on the shelves and a few on the top filled with prepared food ready for cooking. The servery roller shutter is closed.
