On board the type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Ashanti (1959) alongside North Corner Jetty in Portsmouth Dockyard during her September 1968 to April 1970 refit. The photographer is in the charthouse between 43½ and 44½ stations on the port side of 01 deck looking to port and slightly aft showing the door to the navigating officer's cabin on the left with a bookshelf, a key cabinet and a notice board next to it. An echo sounder transmitter, an amplifier, a power unit, a speaking tube, a microphone and two echo sounding type 765 AJ supply boxes are against the port bulkhead. A vertical format negative.
