The photographer is in the crew's and marines' 3G mess between 50 and 56 stations on 3 deck looking forward on the port side at 51½ station showing a triple tier bunk unit on the left with a stack of upturned tubular steel chairs on it. Mess lockers, a clock reading 10.18, an automatic emergency lantern, two loudspeakers and a wire rope ladder leading up to an escape scuttle are against the forward bulkhead. A folding table is on the right and a mess fanny, a water can, brooms, a five gallon tin and an electric deck washing/cleaning machine are on the deck. A vertical format negative.
