On board the type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Ashanti (1959) alongside North Corner Jetty in Portsmouth Dockyard during her September 1968 to April 1970 refit. The photographer is in the diesel generator compartment between 61 and 65½ stations on the centreline of 1 deck looking to starboard and slightly aft from 62 station on the starboard side showing the forward end and starter panel of the starboard Paxman diesel generator on the right. A ventilation trunk grill is against the starboard bulkhead and a watertight door is in this bulkhead. A vertical format negative.
