The photographer is in the junior rates dining hall between 50 and 56 stations on 2 deck looking forward and to starboard from the port side at 54½ station. The tables in the foreground are set athwartships and the table on the starboard side is set fore and aft. The benches have been upturned on the tables. The tea making facility is next to the door to the forward fuelling position on the left. A 4 gallon container of draught malt vinegar and four tank-like containers are on the counter against the forward bulkhead on the starboard side. Two fuse panels and some lockers are against the starboard bulkhead.
