On board the type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Ashanti (1959) alongside North Corner Jetty in Portsmouth Dockyard during her September 1968 to April 1970 refit. The photographer is in the sonar control room between 41 and 43 stations on the starboard side of 1 deck looking forward and to port showing a sonar 1070B circuit panel, the sonar main starter panel and fuse panels against the forward bulkhead. The type 199 towed array sonar control consoles are against the port bulkhead and the raised chair of the senior man is in the centre. A vertical format negative.
