A starboard midship detail of the Italian passenger liner Leonardo Da Vinci (1925) just under way passing through Port Said, Egypt, in service as a troopship. Her decks are thronged with troops being transported south through the Suez Canal for the Italo-Abyssinian War. A large banner is rigged on the lower promenade deck which reads 'Credere Obbedire Combattere'. Negatives numbers P83937 to P83941 inclusive were taken on the same occasion.
