On board the type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Ashanti (1959) alongside North Corner Jetty in Portsmouth Dockyard during her September 1968 to April 1970 refit. The photographer is in the operations room between 41½ and 45½ stations on 1 deck looking into the port forward corner from the centreline at 43½ station showing the gunnery officer's console (target indicator unit Mark 5). A combination locked cupboard is against the forward bulkhead. Mounted under the deckhead are a visual reporting unit, a mounting to STD unit, a switch unit radar selector, a radar type 954/944 M(1) box and a 3-way radio channel selector unit.
