On board the type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Ashanti (1959) alongside North Corner Jetty in Portsmouth Dockyard during her September 1968 to April 1970 refit. The photographer is on the port side of 01 deck at 56 station looking forward showing the canvas covered GWS 21 Seacat missile launcher and a whip aerial for the type 640 radio on the left. Further forward are the 3 inch rocket launcher and its ready use locker alongside the enclosed bridge. The stairs lead up to the signal platform on 02 deck. The ship is berthed starboard side to the jetty.
