The photographer is in the seamen's mess between 78 and 85 stations on 2 deck looking forward on the starboard side showing four triple tier bunk units against the ship's side. A stairway leading up to 1 deck and a hatch leading down to 3 deck are on the left with two triple tier bunks units and a row of kit lockers beyond them. Another two triple tier bunk units are in the centre background and four folding tables with seven tubular steel chairs are on the deck.
