On board the type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Nubian (1960) alongside South Railway Jetty in Portsmouth Dockyard prior to commissioning on 9 October 1962. The photographer is in the operations room between 41½ and 45½ stations on 1 deck looking forward and to port showing the target indication unit mark 5 console of the gun direction officer and four junction boxes are against the port bulkhead. The perspex A.A. co-ordinated plot and tote screen is hanging down forward of the console. The door to the passageway is open, as is the opposite door to the vent cooler space. The JW display L.A.P. is in the left foreground. Junction boxes, an H.R.L console and a radar selector relay unit are against the forward bulkhead.
