On board the type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Nubian (1960) alongside South Railway Jetty in Portsmouth Dockyard prior to commissioning on 9 October 1962. The photographer is on the starboard side of the forecastle looking aft and to port from 19 station showing the 4.5 inch mark V gun mount and the enclosed bridge front. The ship's crest is on the gun tompion and on the face of the bridge. The dockyard semaphore tower is in the background.
