On board the type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Nubian (1960) alongside South Railway Jetty in Portsmouth Dockyard prior to commissioning on 9 October 1962. The photographer is on the starboard side of the forecastle looking aft and slightly to port from 33 station showing the face of the superstructure, the enclosed bridge front, the type 293 radar mast and the mainmast. The AKE1 type 965 radar aerial at the top of the mast is out of the picture. The ship's crest is on the face of the bridge.
