On board the type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Nubian (1960) alongside the South Arm in Rosyth Dockyard prior to 25 March 1973. The photographer is looking into the corner of an unidentified mess showing a settee bench with lockers under it and a cupboard above in the corner. There are no signs of occupation. This may be the junior rates' and marines' mess between 50 and 56 stations on 3 deck.
