On board the type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Nubian (1960) alongside the South Arm in Rosyth Dockyard prior to 25 March 1973. The photographer is in an unidentified junior rates' mess showing a row of four triple tier bunk units on the left with two more triple tier bunk units on the right. Kit lockers, an electric iron and an ironing board are against the end bulkhead. A folding table is stowed against a locker in the centre and a letter rack is above it. A Sanyo radio cassette is on top of a cupboard. Two ratings are in the mess.
