The photographer is an unidentified crew's mess, possibly the crew's mess between 56 and 60 stations on the starboard side of 2 deck., showing two triple tier bunk units on the right and another on the left. A folding table and two tubular steel chairs are on deck between the bunks. Against the end bulkhead is a folding shelf with an electric kettle on it, a mirror, two loudspeakers, a clock reading 09.30 and a TAS Watch Bill. Coat hooks are on the end of a pair of kit lockers in the left foreground.
