The photographer is in the junior ratings dining hall between 50 and 56 stations on 2 deck looking to port and forward from just to starboard of the centreline at 53 station showing the tables and benches on the port side set athwartships. Bookcases are against the ship's side. Two loudspeakers, a fuse panel, an emergency change over switch and connection box and an international compressed air breathing apparatus Mk. 2 cabinet are against the forward bulkhead. On the right foreground is the tea making facility and in the foreground is a table set fore and aft laden with Sunblest sliced bread, bottles of tomato ketchup, salt and pepper shakers, plates, table mats and trays.
