The photographer is in the junior ratings dining hall between 50 and 56 stations on 2 deck looking to starboard and forward from the port side at 55 station showing the tables and benches on the port side set athwartships. On the starboard side is the tea making facility and a table set fore and aft laden with Sunblest sliced bread, bottles of tomato ketchup, salt and pepper shakers, plates, table mats and trays. Cupboards and fuse panels are on the starboard side beyond the table. In the left background is the roller shutter of the servery and to the right of it, against the oil refuelling space, is an automatic emergency lantern.
