The photographer is in the crew's and marines' 3G mess between 50 and 56 stations on 3 deck looking forward on the port side at 52½ station showing two triple tier bunk units and a cleaning gear locker with a letter rack fixed to it on the right. Kit lockers and a triple tier bunk unit are on the left. A clock reading 09.42, a television set on a locker, a bookshelf on a locker, an air conditioning unit an automatic emergency lantern, two loudspeakers and a wire rope ladder leading up to an escape scuttle are against the forward bulkhead. A folding table and tubular steel chairs are in the centre.
