On board the type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Nubian (1960) alongside the South Arm in Rosyth Dockyard prior to 25 March 1973. The photographer is in the main communication office between 41 and 45 stations on the port side of 2 deck looking forward showing the large control circuit exchange unit against the forward bulkhead. An operator's position alongside the CCX unit is equipped with a B40 CAY unit, a B41 CAZ unit, a No. 10 MCO control unit, a morse key and a covered Imperial 66 typewriter. A position against the starboard bulkhead has a KMP (1) circuits control unit and a morse key and a completely different type of unit above the desk. A clock is in the upper corner of the office. Against the ship's side is a cupboard with a shredder built in to the top of it.
