On board the type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Nubian (1960) alongside the South Arm in Rosyth Dockyard prior to 25 March 1973. The photographer is in the main communication office between 41 and 45 stations on the port side of 2 deck looking aft and to starboard from 41½ station showing a desk on the left which has a KMP (1) circuits control unit, a morse key and an unknown type of unit above. The door to the office has a notice board and a flag address board fixed to it. Bays 1 and 2 are against the starboard bulkhead aft of the door. Bay 1 has a rotary duplicator on it, a two drawer filing cabinet under it and shelves of signal and message logs above it. Bay 2 is for the typist and distribution supervisor and has an Imperial 66 typewriter and a morse key on it. A notice board, communications state board, risk areas board and transmitter state board are above and to the side of Bay 2.
