The photographer is in the junior rates 2E mess between 41 and 42½ stations on the starboard side of 2 deck looking to port and forward showing six kit lockers, a greatcoat locker, a folding table, two tubular steel chairs and a mirror. Two small lockers are against the forward bulkhead and a budgerigar in a cage is on the top of these lockers.
