On board the type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Nubian (1960) alongside the South Arm in Rosyth Dockyard prior to 25 March 1973. The photographer is in the auxiliary machinery compartment between 41 and 45 stations on 4 deck looking forward and to starboard on the starboard side showing a work bench, fitted with a Record 84 vice, close to the starboard side of the ship. Ahead of the bench are the motors and control panel for the refrigeration plant. A hand-written note is stuck to the control panel reading 'When brine tank temp. reaches 0°F (zero) change trays in tank'.
