The photographer is in the auxiliary machinery compartment between 41 and 45 stations on 4 deck looking forward and to starboard on the starboard side showing a work bench, fitted with a Record 84 vice, close to the starboard side of the ship. Ahead of the bench are the motors and control panel for the refrigeration plant. A hand-written note is stuck to the control panel reading 'When brine tank temp. reaches 0°F (zero) change trays in tank'.
