On board the type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Nubian (1960) alongside the South Arm in Rosyth Dockyard prior to 25 March 1973. The photographer is in the auxiliary machinery compartment between 41 and 45 stations on 4 deck looking aft and slightly to starboard from the forward end on the starboard side showing two refrigeration compressors against the side of the ship with cable hangers below them. An arcton refrigerant gas cylinder is stowed on a screen and an automatic emergency lantern is by the side of it.
