On board the type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Nubian (1960) alongside the South Arm in Rosyth Dockyard prior to 25 March 1973. The photographer is in the conversion machinery room between 45 and 48 stations on the starboard side of 4 deck looking aft and to port from 45½ station showing the pitometer log, a choke unit and a voltage regulator against the port bulkhead. On the deck are an amplidyne on the left with a cupboard beyond it, a large motor generator in the centre and a small motor generator on the right with another large motor generator in the right foreground. Against the aft bulkhead are a starter and fuse panels.
