On board the type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Nubian (1960) alongside the South Arm in Rosyth Dockyard prior to 25 March 1973. The photographer is in the chief petty officer's mess between 67 and 73 stations on the starboard side of 2 deck looking aft and to starboard from 67½ station just to port of the centreline showing the recreation area with a settee bench against the aft bulkhead. A low cupboard, a mirror and a settee bench are on the left. Two supporting pillars are on the centreline with a waste bin next to each of them. The sleeping area of the mess is curtained off.
