On board the type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Nubian (1960) alongside the South Arm in Rosyth Dockyard prior to 25 March 1973. The photographer is in the chief petty officer's mess between 67 and 73 stations on the starboard side of 2 deck looking forward and to starboard from 71½ station just to port of the centreline showing the recreation area with a settee bench and a bar on the right. An automatic emergency lantern and a clock reading 10.46 are above the bar and the door to the mess is on the left. A supporting pillar is on the centreline with a waste bin next to it.
