On board the type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Nubian (1960) alongside the South Arm in Rosyth Dockyard prior to 25 March 1973. The photographer is in the petty officer's mess between 73 and 78 stations on the starboard side of 2 deck looking aft and to port from the starboard side at 75½ station showing the bar in the starboard aft corner on the extreme left. A settee bench, an M to Z letter rack, a telephone handset, a notice board, bookshelves and a cabinet containing operating procedures if the mess is used as a casualty station are against the aft bulkhead. Coffee tables and stools made from beer firkins, an armchair and four upholstered tubular steel armchairs complete the recreation area. Two greatcoat cupboards and two high level cupboards are alongside the door on the port side.
