On board the type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Nubian (1960) alongside the South Arm in Rosyth Dockyard prior to 25 March 1973. The photographer is in the enclosed bridge between 40½ and 43½ stations on 01 deck looking forward on the centreline showing the pelorus with an illuminated box and the wind speed and direction indicators against the forward screen. On the port side are a loudspeaker, sonar repeater units, telephone handsets and voicepipes. Against the starboard side screen are a dimmer unit, stabiliser unit, pitometer log register, rudder indicator, voicepipe, fire control box, telephone handsets and microphones, gun range indicator and engine telegraph transmitter. The two Forth Bridges can be seen through the bridge windows.
