On board the type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Nubian (1960) alongside the South Arm in Rosyth Dockyard prior to 25 March 1973. The photographer is in the bridge lobby between 43½ and 48½ stations on the centreline of 01 deck looking forward from 47½ station. In the foreground is the wooden cover over the bollard winch and a telephone handset. Above the arched openings is the support for the MRS 3 director. Beyond the archway is a stretcher cupboard and above the open hatch leading down to 1 deck are three light dimmer units and an automatic emergency lantern. The flight of four steps lead up to the enclosed bridge.
