The photographer is on the starboard side of the forecastle at 32 station looking aft showing the superstructure, enclosed bridge and starboard single 20 mm oerlikon mounting. The door into the 4.5 inch ready use magazine and gun crew's shelter is open. The barrel of the 4.5 inch gun is trained aft on the starboard side and can be seen in front of the enclosed bridge.
