On board the type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Nubian (1960) alongside the South Arm in Rosyth Dockyard prior to 25 March 1973. The photographer is in the A/S metadyne and power and 4.5 metadyne compartment between 28 and 32 stations on 3 deck looking to port from near the centreline showing the stairs up to 2 deck in the right foreground with a folding desk next to it. The door to the sonar instrument compartment is to port of the stairs and two cupboards and a cable hanger are in the port forward corner. A starter, a control panel and the 4.5 inch mounting metadyne Mk. 19 are against the ship's side. Against the aft bulkhead are a transformer, a wooden cupboard, the fuse setting metadyne, a control panel, a starter and high level cupboards.
